Description:  An ex Southern SD40-2 with the cab amenities and controls removed, and windows boarded up is the middle unit on todays 553 at the north end of the yard. CP had several of these they cobbled together from ex NS units.

Power change
Title:  Power change
Description:  This 553 train left Binghamton with CP 5646 leading. it must have crapped out somewhere on Belden Hill and this GP9 leader was brought up from Binghamton, or swapped off 556. Still, it looks good in clean paint, even if the delay has now put the train almost in darkness, now rolling on past GR with its 82 cars.

252 with unusual power
Title:  252 with unusual power
Description:  252 rolls south over the Harpursville bridge behind a trio of 40's. The two trailing units are notable. The middle unit is an ex SOU unit that was converted to a B unit by CP; they changed it by removing the seats and control stand, and boarding up the windows-yes, boarding up: they used plywood. The trailing unit is ex Greater Winnipeg Water District, and a trade from CN-note the road number that falls into CN's SD40 series.
