Description:  Amtraks CEO, Richard Anderson, was onboard this train with a theater car on the rear. I did not know this until we got to Hattiesburg for the day... and additional cars including an extra motor.

Description:  A typical Hattiesburg day is just a few daylight freights on NS and a couple on CN. This is NS 198 i believe, before NS put in their new Precision Scheduled Railroading plans. This is a rare breed as NS is getting rid of engines such as this SD70M.

Description:  on May 11th, 2019- a southbound NS mixed freight (355) derailed over two dozen cars and two out of three locomotives in Poplarville. I shot some photos from Amtrak 19.

Cleanup of May 11th derailment.
Title:  Cleanup of May 11th derailment.
Description:  On May 11th, a NS train (355) with three locomotives and a fairly large train derailed after hitting a washout that was not reported by a crew who felt a "bump" at the spot. The train hit this spot at track speed causing i believe 28 cars to derail and 2 out of three locomotives (lead was fine)... It took awhile to clean this up.
