Album Info:The Schuylkill Valley Navigation & Railroad Company was chartered in 1827 and in 1830 opened a horse powered railroad from Mill Creek/Palo Alto to Tuscarora PA. In 1843 the Philadelphia & Reading bought a majority of the capital stock and extended the line to Tamaqua in 1859. This made a 14 mile railroad that was cut back to Middleport in the 1960s. The Reading and Northern acquired the line in 1992 and presently uses it for car storage. This album covers that route and the remaining stub of the Frackville Branch from Mill Creek Jct. to the Yuengling Brewery below St. Clair. Palo Alto to Pottsville Junction is also included
