Description:
Nice example of an Alco-Schenectady 2-6-6-2 Mogul Mallet type steam locomotive built originally as Buffalo, Rochester & Pittsburgh #700. In 1932, the loco was absorbed into the B&O roster and renumbered BO #7500.It lasted until being scrapped in September of 1949 after nearly 35 total years of service. Original specs - 57" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressuer, 23.5x37" high pressure cylinders, 37x32" low pressure cylinders, engine wt of 429,000 lb and an impressive 80,000 lb tractive force. The photo is from the Ralph G. Dunn collection.
