CB&Q Class XM-4 47933
Title:  CB&Q Class XM-4 47933
Description:  Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad Class XM-4 47933 at Cicero, Illinois on an unknown day in November 1980, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. I could not find information about this series of cars ( 47800 - 48276 ) but they have the same dimensions and capacity as the previous series, so the following will be used from the book, CB&Q Color Guide to Freight and Passenger Equipment, by Michael J. Spoor: Built at Havelock ( CB&Q Shops in Nebraska ) in 1963, it was part of Class XM-4 which consisted of 300 cars built to a Northern Pacific design. Featuring single-sheathed, outside post construction with 8' plug main doors and 6' auxiliary plug doors, grain access doors ( at the top of the main door ) and a 5,080 cu. ft. capacity, these cars were numbered 47500 - 47799.

CB&Q Class FM-3 94269
Title:  CB&Q Class FM-3 94269
Description:  Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad Class FM-3 94269 at Cicero, Illinois on an unknown day in November 1980, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. The following is from the book, CB&Q Color Guide to Freight and Passenger Equipment, by Michael J. Spoor:

In 1956 the Q introduced a new series of 60' 70-ton capacity flatcars designed to carry farm machinery. Built at Havelock ( CB&Q shops in Nebraska ) and classified FM-3, additional batches were delivered throughout the 1960's, resulting in 650 of these machinery flats on the roster by 1967, numbered 94250 - 94649. All had hydraulic cushioning, all-welded construction, and tie-down devices specifically designed for farm implements. Note 42 in the October 1971 ORER reads:

Cars in series 94000 to 94049 ( except cars 94000, 94005, 94013, 94018 94021, 94032, 94039, and 94047 ) are equipped with tie-downs for Caterpillar service; cars in series 94250 to 94649 are equipped with tie-downs for handling automobile components.
