Removing Signs
Amtrak, MDOT and MARP officials look on as the Amtrak station signs at the "now closed" Amtrak station for Amtrak's Pere Marquette are removed following the opening of the new Amtrak station in New Buffalo. To let everyone know, these signs were saved. I convinced the Amtrak officials to donate the signs to the New Buffalo Railroad Museum (located in background of image in the old wooden depot next to the Chessie System box car). Amtrak had no use for the signs and would of scrapped them. A piece of railroad history is now saved!
