This locomotive was a one-of-a kind diesel/torque-converter unit. It was Baldwin/Whitcomb 40754, a 52-ton 400-horsepower variable-gauge RS4TC built in June 1955 as U.S. Army 1281 named GEN. NATHANIEL GREEN I. It became Washington-Western 5 and was eventually scrapped at Clifton. |
