| Ex-Conrail/LMS Leasing unit 726. Locomotive Management Services (LMS) was a partnership between Conrail and GE in 1994, where 60 C40-8W's would serve Conrail for 6 months a year, and roam the country leased to other roads for the rest of the year. The initial order (700-739) came in Conrail blue with 'LMS' markings, while the remainder of the order (740-759) came with full Conrail paint and lettering. An LMS unit still in Blue in 2010 is probably pretty rare, seen here on the point of an NS ethanol train at the refinery. |
