Fifty-seat coach 5011 was manufactured by Budd in 1952 as Burlington 4732 SILVER SHIELD. It was one of four such cars (4731-4734) built for service on the KANSAS CITY ZEPHYR and the AMERICAN ROYAL ZEPHYR, and all of these went to Amtrak as the 5010-5013. The 5011 was photographed on the northbound PANAMA LIMITED leaving New Orleans. In 1985 it was remodeled into Heritage Fleet cafeteria car 8710. |
