RR City. Here is an original photo that I took of the Pennsylvania Railroad's "Railroad City Limited" in Altoona, Pennsylvania, on 25 Apvil 1964. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #8606, #8610, and #8609. All are APS-24MS's built by the American Locomotive Company and rated at 2,400 horsepower each; 8606 was:built in 1955, but #8609 and #8610 were built in 1956. They are pulling the 18-car "Railroad City Limited" out of Altoona on the Hollidaysburg Branch Line. |
