Here is the fifth of 18 photos by Fred McLeod that are included in a souvenir brochure entitled "Horseshoe Curve; Pennsylvania Railroad; Altoona, Pa." Photo Caption: "Triple-Header Locomotives on Upgrade." Shown here (L to R) are PRR engines #612, another K-4S, and a T-1 "Duplex" powering a passenger train up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin, where the two front-end helpers will uncouple and return to Altoona. #612 is a K-4SA (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata as a K-4S during April of 1917, later equipped with a front-end throttle and reclassified as a K-4SA, and retired in April of 1958 after 41 years of faithful service.
