Shown here (L to R) is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #9811 and two more "EF" Class units whose numbers are not recorded. All were built by GM-EMD and rated at 1,500 horsepower each. #9811 was constructed in April of 1951. In this context, this A-B-A set is pulling a mixed-cargo freight train that's about to round the Curve on its way up the Allegheny Mountains to Gallitzin and points West. |
