Tom Beckett General What a cool scene!! EL power working on a westbound at QD yard, and newly acquired, ex RDG power on a D&H westbound. Not sure why the D&H train is coming up Southern Tier Line track 1; They were not yet using the ex DLW East Binghamton yard. They would not acquire it til 1980; at the time, they were still in Bevier St, on the north side. The Erie freight house at right came down in Jan 1999; the signal above the lead EL unit was removed some time in the 90's-I'd have to check my photos for a ballpark date. It was the distant signal for CP Johnson(then West BD; BD was back about a mile, beyond the overpass, where the ex DLW crossed the Erie to reach its Syracuse and Utica Branches, also there was a connection from the DLW to the Erie Main), about a mile to the west. The Erie station was out of the photo, behind the photographer, and had recently been demolished. The overpass in the distance is NY 363. The D&H freight house is the partly visible brick building at far left, and is still 11/29/2019 4:18:18 AM
