NOPB 45 and 49
Three retired New Orleans Public Belt Baldwin DS4-4-660 locomotives were parked at the railroad’s engine terminal, awaiting their demise. The NOPB had just used eight Baldwin locos as trade-in credit on a like number of new EMD switchers, and the old units would soon be scrapped by a contractor at a siding on the railroad. (approximate date, slide processed October 1971)
