| Standing on the old platform between the CSX Chattanooga Sub main and the depot and railroad hotel buildings in Stevenson while a train passes is not for the faint of heart. Combined empty grain and coal train E319 is over eleven thousand feet long and is getting back up to track speed after meeting Q583. The tracks of Norfolk Southern's Memphis East District can be seen in the background. CSX and Norfolk Southern share tracks from Stevenson to Wauhatchie, TN on the southwest side of Chattanooga, an agreement that dates back to the days of the N.C.&St.L. and the Southern. |
