PRR in Frankstown, Pennsylvania, c. 1920's
Here is an image of a photo that was taken of Frankstown, Pennsylvania, during the 1920's. Notable here (B to T) are the Pennsylvania Railroad's water tower, an actual train heading East on the Hollidaysburg & Petersburg Branch line, Tower F, and the Eastbound Classification Yard. The Eastbound and Westbound Yards were constructed in 1902-1903, and were built over the old Pennsylvania Main Line Canal. US Route 22 ~ the "William Penn Highway" ~ bisects the town: East to Huntingdon toward the bottom, West to Hollidaysburg toward the top. Photo Credit: Jim Snyder, Jr. (#6,300)
