This photo was taken during the last days of steam when a valiant little band of K-4's made a last ditch stand against invading herds of diesels. Photo by Douglas Wornom." #612 is a K-4S (4-6-2) "Pacific" built in Juniata during April of 1917, later equipped with a front-end throttle and reclassified as a K-4SA, and retired in April of 1958 after 41 years of faithful service. |
