Crews tinker in the cab with BNSF 7994 as she sits parked in the engine facility at South Seattle. In the left background are the DPUs of two coal trains waiting to head north, and on the right is a set of four units that will be moved into the yard to pick up another train of containers. 7994 had arrived earlier this afternoon on a westbound stack train, and was part of the same consist as the other units on the right. I would wager that 7994 developed some form of mechanical fault, as it has been cut off from the rest of the consist and replaced with another GE. There are no physical engine facilities here at South Seattle, so all these engines have been fuelled by a contracted fuel truck prior to their next assignments. |
