Marianchuk-30th Street. Here is the third of three original photos by an unidentified photographer that were taken near the Pennsylvania Railroad's 30th Street Station in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, c. 1953. In the foreground is PRR engine #4803, a GG-1 (2-C-C-2) built by General Electric during June of 1935 and rated at 4,620 horsepower. It's just departed the Station with a northbound passenger train. Visible in the background is a small portion of the PRR's freight-only "High Line." |
