Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #3583, an L-1S (2-8-2) "Mikado" built by the Baldwin Locomotive Works during February of 1919 and retired in April of 1958 after 39 years of faithful service. A small portion of the left-to-right flowing Susquehanna River is visible in the background. The photographer's name and the exact date are not recorded. |
