Both were built by the American Locomotive Company. #9627 is an AF-16 built in December of 1951, rated at 1,600 horsepower, and retired in January of 1967 after just 16 years of revenue service. In this context, this A-B set is about to pass by the Station with a train of empty hopper cars bound for Altoona and the coal mines of Western Pennsylvania.
