Album Info:Nice photo of New York, Chicago & St Louis (Nickel Plate Road) caboose #416 taken by an unknown photographer. Due to the tragic RRPA hard drive crash in 2025, I have finally been able to re-post this lost photo on 2/3/2026.

NKP Caboose #416 - Nickel Plate Road
Title:  NKP Caboose #416 - Nickel Plate Road
Description:  An unknown rail fan took this great roster shot of Nickel Plate Road (New Yok, Chicago & St Louis) as it sat in the Jasper, IN yard. NKP Caboose #416 is a steel bay-window caboose built by the Nickel Plate Road (New York, Chicago & St. Louis Railroad) Shops in Conneaut OH, between 1955 56. It was part of a series (401–450) of modified bay-window designs, following the prototype #400 built in 1952, used for high-speed freight service. These cars were designed for improved visibility and safety. It was used primarily for freight, with many later absorbed by the Norfolk & Western (N&W) after the 1964 merger and then by Norfolk Southern in 1982. I found this caboose in August of 2023 sitting in the Jasper, IN yard and literally rusting away. Take a look (https://www.rrpicturearchives.net/archiveThumbs.aspx?id=149217
