Description:  This photo was taken on a Sunday since the yard power and road power are seen at the same time. Track work was being done at this time and the yard power was running a Hilton turn at night so as to allow track forces to work uninterrupted all day. On Sundays they reverted back to the old schedule and the job from Albany came all the way to Dothan.

Title:  Old piggyback area
Description:  A northbound passes the old piggyback area at Dothan as they make their way to the yard. The old ACL passenger station is directly behind me. SCL exited the piggyback business in Dothan in the mid 1980's and for a while the H&S railroad operated a ramp on the west side of Dothan. This lasted about a year and when it closed brought about an end to intermodal activity in Dothan except for something passing through.
