Description:  Here is a photo by R.W. Legg that was taken near South Bend, Indiana, c. 1938. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #8159, an N-2SA (2-10-2) "Santa Fe" built by the American Locomotive Company as an N-2S during April of 1919, later rebuilt in Juniata as an N-2SA, and retired in January of 1948 after 29 years of faithful service. Title:  Northern Indiana Railway Interurban Car 151
Description:  According to "Northern Indiana Railway" by G. Bradley, this car was built by the Saint Louis Car Company in 1903 as NIR 51, renumbered to 151. The text indicates that the renumbering took place during 1922 when the cars were rebuilt into one-man cars. Location is the Northern Indiana Railway yard but actual date unknown, circa 1930's. It was originally a 48 seat smoker. to the left partially in view is CSS interurban #101, built by Pullman in 1926 as a coach/baggage interurban car but later rebuilt to all passenger car. I scanned this image from the original negatives taken by Lawrence H. Boehning.
