Description:  Nice roster shot of Indiana Railroad SD40-2 #42 taken by an unknown rail fan near the south side of Indianapolis. Originally built as Burlington Northern #7234, it landed on the Inrdiana Railroad roster with a new paint job and the number INRD 42. Eventually it would be renumbered 4002.

Description:  Indiana Rail Road (INRD) SD40-2 #41 is a veteran freight locomotive that has undergone several renumberings and owner changes throughout its career. Originally built for the Burlington Northern (BN) by EMD in July of 1980, it eventually became a key part of the INRD fleet before being renumbered to fit their current system. Nee-BN 8178 > HLCX 8178 > INRD 41 > INRD 4001. No photographer was listed for the photo which is now part of my rr collection.
