Baldwin built this 4-6-0 in August of 1903 originally as CM&StP Vauclain compound ten wheeler #417 (serial #22621, class B4) but was renumbered several times during its life. Nee-#417 > in November of 1907 to #1767 > in September of 1912 to #4367 > in March of 1925, the loco was simplified and renumbered to #2637 and finally in August of 1938 to MILW 1037. The loco was sent to the scrapper's torch in June of 1956 after 53 years of service. No exact day in 1946 was given so an approximate was used. This is an Hanft photo now in my rr collection. |
