Lake Shore

  Contributor's Pick!

A three hour late Lake Shore Limited rolls into the Albany Renssalaer station behind an SDP40F/E 9B combination. I lived in NY City, which was electrified territory, and mostly saw FL 9s and electric motors, with an occasional E unit if I got to Harmon. The SDP40F was a treat, and this was the first one I had seen. The power was pulled here, probably so it could be serviced and sent back west. I dont recall what the train got-I think Es, though it could have been FL 9s, which sometimes ran to Albany.
