One of the remaining origional construction (1840-1841) stone arches still in use by CSX is this one in Bancroft (Middlefield station). The picture postcard view is pre 1912, when the NYC&HRRR did an extensive upgrade of the B&A, and shows the bridge in it's origional configuration. The caption is in error, as the watercourse is Factory Brook, NOT the Westfield River. |
