Title:
PRR 5870, EP-20, c. 1951
Description:
Altoona Action. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide by an unidentified photographer that was taken at the Passenger Station in Altoona, Pennsylvania, c. 1951. Shown at the right is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5870, an EP-20 built by GM-EMD in April of 1949 and rated at 2,000 horsepower. Along with another "EP" Class unit (not pictured), it's passing under the Train Shed with an eastbound passenger train, and will soon come to a stop both to change crews and discharge & pick-up passengers at the Station. Also visible are two unidentified "EF" Class locomotives pulling a westbound mixed-cargo freight train a couple of tracks over, as well as portions of the PRR's 12th Street Car Shops in the distance. Produced and distributed by Creative Graphics of Newark, NJ. ("PrrFan18n")

Title:
PRR 5870, EP-20, 1960
Description:
Kern. Here is a duplicate 35mm color slide of a photo by Fred R. Kern that was taken near Aqueduct, Pennsylvania, on 17 October 1960. Shown here (R to L) are Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5870 and two more "EP" Class units whose road numbers are not recorded. All are EP-20's built by GM-EMD and rated at 2,000 horsepower each. #5870 was constructed in April of 1949. In this context, they're rockin' 'n' rollin' with a passenger train out of Pittsburgh bound for Harrisburg and points East. ("PrrFan18n")
