The train was on the Southern Railway siding, and was about to cross the extension of Fremaux Avenue just south of the Southern depot. Only the trailing Paducah re-build suggest that it may be a bit later. It is, in fact, a full seven years and counting since the birth of Illinois Central Gulf as this freight rolls through Freeburg, Illinois the day after Christmas in 1979. |
