Wye Switches. Here is the second of three time exposures that I took of Pennsylvania Railroad trains at the Wye Switches in Duncansville, Pennsylvania, on 18 September 1965. Shown here (R to L) are PRR engines #7031, #7176-B, and #7187-B. All are EFS-17M's built by EMD and rated at 1,750 horsepower each. #7031 was built in 1955, but #7176-B and #7187-B were built in 1957. They are pulling an 84-car mixed-cargo freight train from Altoona up the New Portage Branch Line via the Muleshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West. Duncansville's 2nd Avenue is on the right. |
