Title:  MARC GP40WH-2 #62 - Maryland Area Rail Commuter
Description:  Nice example of a rebuilt GP40 (ex-CSX 6679) serving the Maryland Area Rail Commuter. his is a Motive Power Industries (MPI - Morris-Knudson) rebuild from ex-KCS 766 (nee-PC GP40 #3138). The new loco can generate a start up tractive effort of 72,000 lb with continuous tractive effort of 54,700 lb. No date, location or photographer was listed for the loco.Thanks to the help from Shenandoah Railfan (see comment below), the location has been identifified as Point of Rocks, MD. Thanks Railfan!

Description:  P91615 does an inspection on the equipment before doing an air test. The train is sitting on the little used interchange track between the WMSR and CSXT. Note the lack of ditchlights on this MARC unit. These units are exempt, because of the Mars-style extra headlight between the numberboards.
