MILW 4-6-0 #1022 - Milwaukee Road |
| Description: |
Baldwin built this 4-6-0 Vauclain compound ten wheeler in August of 1903 originally as CM&StP 418 (serial #22645, class B4) but the Milwaukee Road had a habit of renumbering their locos often. In October of 1907, it was renumbered to #1768 > in September of 1912 to #4368 > in June of 1920, it was simplified and renumbered to #2622 and finally in August of 1938 to MILW #1022. After nearly 53 years of dedicated service, the loco was sent to the scrapper's torch in June of 1956. No exact day in 1946 was given so an approximate was used. This is an Hanft photo now in my rr collection. |
