Title:  MILW 4-6-0 #1053 - Milwaukee Road
Description:  Baldwin built this 4-6-0 loco in August of 1901 originally as CM&StP Vauclain compound ten wheeler #378 (serial #19473, class B4) but starting in August of 1907, it was renumbered to #1728 > in September of 1912 to #4328 > in July of 1015, it was simplified and then renumbered #2878 > in NOvember of 1920 to 2870 > and finally in June of 1938, it was renumbered one last time to MILW #1053. After 51 years of dedicated service, the loco was scrapped in December of 1952 to make way for the diesels that were taking over. The photo was taken by a rail fan known as Anderson.

Description:  Nice roster shot of MILW 4-6-0 #1053 while it sat in the Janesville WI Yard. Description:  Number 1053 in headlight, number 1052 below headlight. Number 1053 was built by Baldwin in August 1901 (c/n 19473) as CM&StP 4-6-0 Vulclain compound (15&25X28 cylinders, 62 inch drivers) class B-4 number 378. Renumbered in August 1907 to CM&StP 1728, renumbered in September 1912 to 4328, rebuilt to simple in July 1915 (22X28 cylinders, 63 inch driver), reclassed to G-7-bs and renumbered to 2878, renumbered in November 1920 to 2870, renumbered in June 1938 to CMStP&P 1053, scrapped in December 1952.
